Mannequins.

The idea behind mannequins is funny to me and I'm not quite sure why. I remember as a child having some thorough conversations with mannequins that I would frequently pass around the local mall. A little chit, a little chat and a friend was made so easily. They at least had heads.

Headless mannequins worry me. I understand that only the body is needed to show off the clothes being displayed and I guess mannequin heads can be pretty creepy, but it gives off such an "object" vibe. Maybe I just take too many classes pertaining to this subject matter and all this education is getting to my head.

I am not too random of a person. I am not merely mentioning mannequins just because. I'm actually planning on using the idea of mannequins in my next piece. It was actually this mannequin in particular that inspired me. Once finals are all over and I pull myself together by trying to convince myself that I couldn't have done that bad...back to my creations I go!

I have my own mannequin in my studio. She stands behind my work table, looking over my shoulder and judging everything I do.

I'm very glad she has a head...

Yes, I prefer mannequins with heads too. And yes, I'm also curious as to what type of classes? Thank you for visiting my blog with its Chinese love song. - Xue.

See? You do have an infatuation with still human like figures.

Okay. So, I don't take classes on mannequins. But man, do I wish!

I've just learned a lot about advertising bodies (w/no faces attached to them a lot of the time) instead of product in magazines and such, yada yada.

Since mannequins really are just human-looking objects, I guess it doesn't really count. But my mind likes to connect semi-unrelated matters mostly because I let it. Haha

I don't know, if TV and Movies have been telling me the truth, and mannequins will come to life in some hilarious form, I definately would rather them have heads than without!
